A bitter sweet symphony …

Cocktail bitters

For many years now the popularity of using bitters in cocktails has be more and more popular. Here at Organic Spirit we often use our own home-made bitters during our cocktail master classes, cocktail receptions for weddings and all the other amazing events we cater for. Using bitters can give a new dimension to what might be a slightly flat in flavor cocktail, the bitterness paired with other flavorings can really bring out the best of other spirits and liqueurs.

During many of our hen party cocktail making sessions, mixology master classes, and hands on cocktail lessons many of our students asked us where we get our bitters from, now we love to share our knowledge about how we make our ingredients but some a re a little more complex to make then others. So we have now opened up our online store and offer a range of off the shelf bitters as well as a very special bespoke service you get the chance to have your very own flavor created by us.

Bitters are not a new thing by any means and have sat proudly on the back bar of establishments all over the world for centuries and actually predate the cocktail. Many moons ago bitters would have been looked at and treated as tonics and cure-alls, with all manor of strange, exotic and down right odd ingredients to cure all manor of strange, exotic and down right odd illnesses.

These days you can get just about any flavor you like from white truffle to chocolate and chili, our range offers something a little special for the cocktail lover, with flavours like sarsaparilla, burnt orange and chamomile and vanilla. Our range have carefully been developed by our head mixologist David Hamilton Boyd to mix effortlessly into a broad spectrum of cocktails.

We use only the finest hand picked botanicals, herbs, fruit and spices , they are steeped very slowly with organic spirit as base over 2-4 weeks, this gives great complexity in flavor and provides a well balanced end product.

So have a look at the range and why not even ask us to create a limited edition bitters for you or as a gift for a friend?
